Accusonics Our
staff has been associated with the installation, commissioning,
and maintenance particulars for Accusonics over the past 10
years acting as one of their international field contractors.
CE Casecnan, Philippines The Casecnan Multipurpose
Project is located in the Philippines. The Casecnan Project is a
combined irrigation and hydroelectric power project that
transports 800 million cubic meters of water from two rivers
through a 26 kilometer tunnel to generate 150 MW of electricity.
This water is then discharged and used by the local Irrigation
Administration to irrigate farmland. Using the dye dilution
method our staff conducted a series of flow tests at varying
flows to calibrate the newly installed Winter Kennedy flow meter
located within the power house. The newly calibrated flow meter
will be used to satisfy ongoing turbine efficiency monitoring
and ensure accurate administration of the irrigation delivery
infrastructure.
Hidroelectrica Rio Las Vacas Guatemala The client was
constructing a new hydro electric generating facility in a
remote area outside of Guatemala City. Our staff was retained by
Accusonics Technologies to install and commission the new flow
meter system. The flow meter was installed on ten foot diameter
pipe section consisting of 16 sensors. Our staff is factory
trained installers for Accusonics Technologies.
St. Lucia, WASCO Our staff conducted a major water
throughput audit identifying the total non-revenue water
components within their 16-water treatment/distribution centers
across the whole of the Island. A majority of the efforts were
concentrated among the largest of the systems that contributed a
combined total above 80% of the population and water demand
areas. A complete interviewing process took place to assess
their internal controls relating the increasing amount of
unaccounted-for water. Metering activities, calibration and
meter change out programs, accounting strategies, personnel
training, leak detection practices, repair turnover, pressure
management, export, billing rate structures, tourism, and others
were considered when proposing a plan of action to
systematically reduce the wastage of water within the Island.
Trinidad & Tobago, WASA Assisted in the procurement and
complete technology transfer related to leak detection
principles and implementation of varying strategies based on
existing system demographics. A practical hands-on approach was
used toward the proper use of ultrasonic transit-time, insertion
electro-magnetic flow meters and various leak detection
equipment.
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic A complete
procurement and training program was delivered to the water
purveyor for the use of treatment control and operation for
block use analysis within their large transmission systems.
Practical and theoretical training was delivered through the use
of installation, profiling and verification of the performance
of insertion turbine technology integrated with standalone data
loggers.
Ford Mustang Plant Dearborn, MI Participating in the
complete development of a facility audit & system process
balance identifying a continuous combined flow demand
measurement of all source meters and balanced against the entire
process demand through flow measurement, interview, and
engineering assessment of the intensity, duration, and frequency
of water consumption patterns. Engineering decisions surrounding
the increase in efficiency, conservations, water reuse
strategies, and the overall economic benefit was predicted based
on the development of this program.
